Mamluk Carpet (NOA master weavers, Agra, India)

Mamluk Carpet (NOA master weavers, Agra, India)

W 7'-11" x L 10'-0"Hand knotted of virgin, New Zealand wool; extremely high thread count. This Mamluk carpet was knotted by the NOA master weavers in Agra, India. It is a brilliant reproduction of 15th/16th century styles from West Asia and North Africa (Egyptian, Turkish, Syrian). There is a poetic elegance to this piece. It features symmetrical sets of multi directional triangles, colored variously in hues of crimson and coral. This object may also be interpreted as a “pictorial carpet” or “rug tableau.” That is, it is intended to be hung on the wall (or laid on the floor). NOA Living believes in “slow fashion” production, i.e., producing a piece that is constructed superbly with top quality materials selected for present and future generations. NOA Living is a “GoodWeave” certified business. “The GoodWeave label means that no child, forced or bonded, was employed in the construction of this certified product, and that your purchase supports programs that educate children and ensure humane work conditions for adults.”
