67.5 x 39 x 33 ″Hand carved of elmwood, with iron and metallic paint.

This wooden cabinet was designed and constructed by the native folk of Hebei Province, the People’s Republic of China. In Hebei culture, cabinets with iron trim date back to the Shin Dynasty (317-420 AD). Distinctive to this piece are the iron slats supporting either side and figurations of two lions on the front doors, with circular, iron balls inlaid around the perimeter.
